He has successfully led start-up ventures, and has been affiliated with several domestic and international private equity funded ventures. Steele’s international experience includes Europe, Canada, Asia and Central America. He is a Certified Management Consultant, Six Sigma Black Belt and served for five years as a member of the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. He has also completed executive education for The Shingo Prize.
In corporate roles, Steele’s early professional development began with a series of progressive assignments in a Midwestern energy company ultimately becoming the officer responsible for all customer facing divisions. He then moved to an international role and served as one of the top 25 officers for UK based international business process outsourcing company providing services on three continents. Steele specifically was the head of North America and his responsibility included a team of over 1200 employees in the US and Canada.
In entrepreneurial roles, his success has included start-up ventures and turnaround efforts. He successfully led an accelerated growth and operational excellence strategy for a private equity backed venture which led to a successful liquidity event by an international company and consortium of blue chip investors.
Steele’s professional development curricula includes residency at New York Stock Exchange, New York Mercantile Exchange, Columbia University, Babson College, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Center for Creative Leadership, Sales Performance International, National Institute of Standards and Technology/US Department of Commerce, Underwriters Laboratories, and Bloomberg, L.P. He is a decorated veteran of the US Army intelligence corps; serving in field assignments overseas and strategic assignments in Washington, D.C.
